Hello, I am a recent graduate with an Associates Degree in Health Science through the Mason City, IA campus. I can't say enough about the experience that i have had being a student. I decided to go back to school at the age of 43 and everyone at the campus was so supportive. It is like one big happy family, in fact I am proud to say that they are my second family. I had awesome advisers that would take the time to check on me weekly to make sure I was doing ok in my classes and if I had any questions. Financial aide was always willing to answer any questions I may have had and helped me the whole way through school. The instructors were great! I would like to say a HUGE thank you to the health science instructor Cheryl Blakely, I would not have made it if it weren't for you. The instructors actually cared about you and wanted you to succeed, they never left you hanging. I always got replies from instructors within 24 hours with answers to any questions i may have had. This campus made my college experience fabulous, I can't say enough about it. I would also recommend this University to anyone, yes, it may be a bit more expensive, but the helpfulness and compassion that this campus has for its students is worth it. They want you to succeed and will help you all the way.
Kaplan University was perfect fit for me. Through the online courses I was able to earn a bachelor's degree in a way that fit my lifestyle. I have been able to advance my career because of this degree.
Please look into this school before enrolling! At first, this school was great. It was incredibly expensive but it was suitable for me. Then came the problems, one after another constantly. First of all, the staff is illiterate! I still to this day wonder why they have people "teaching" online classes if they cant even use a computer! The staff is SO lazy and will do anything to get out of being active in class and actually teaching. The only good professor there is Tim Byington, he is wonderful. Then in my 3rd term, I wanted to drop my math class 2 days after it started (I had not participated in it at all yet) and they said I couldnt! So I asked if I could drop all 3 of my classes and take a break that term, Alice Futrell or Butrell (not sure what her last name is) said the day I called was the last day to drop classes and not get charged for them. Therefore, I wouldn't get charged for them. She said I would get a call back in an hour. I NEVER HEARD FROM HER! The next day, I got a call from Sherri Bodecker and she said Alice was misinformed and didn't know the full policy (she has been there for years!!!!) and I never received an apology! I was disrespected and treated badly and charged over $650 for 3 classes 2 days after they started! The financial aid is a joke and I am pretty sure most of the staff there are mentally ill and very unprofessional. DONT GO THERE!!!
I highly recommend Kaplan especially if you have a busy lifestyle but want to further your education.

The Finance Manager, Julie Dannon, there is a fraud, charges students off the books, deletes credits, and does not distribute living expense checks per policy. She is very unprofessional and does whatever she can to skeem money out of people. They will do whatever they can to get graduate numbers and foot you the bill on your last day of school, making you believe you owe nothing out of pocket until you have graduated. UNETHICAL business practices and misleading behavior. Enroll in another office if you can.
