Whenever we are in Iowa, I have to come here for breakfast. This restaurant is part of a Frank Lloyd Wright building and the architecture is amazing. I follow a mostly plant based diet and there are suitable options on the menu. My favorite is the Spring Green Skillet. It is absolutely delicious. My husband had the Spring Green Omelet, which he enjoyed. The wait staff are friendly and efficient.

Good reputation, but be careful when you go. We had a reservation on a Sat eve when they had an event in the ballroom. After sitting for 90 min we still hadn’t been served.

We were in a road trip and decided to divert to Mason City and have lunch here. They weren't open for lunch, at least when we were going, so we decided to get the first seating at dinner. The food was excellent and the prices reasonable for the quality and atmosphere. The place is in the only remaining Frank Lloyd Wright hotel in the world and beautifully renovated and restored. So visit get some nice food and drink in classy atmosphere.

The salads we had were amazing and the main dishes did not live up to the promise of those delicious salads! My husband had the Artisan Romaine with red onions, Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and a mustard dressing. He loved it--and he usually doesn't like salads. I had the 1910 Original. So tasty with greens, Parmesan shavings, pine nuts and a balsamic reduction. Both salads were big portions! I had the chicken risotto that comes with a fillet of grilled chicken. The risotto was too dry and sticky. My husband had the mushroom risotto with salmon. The portions of the entries were too big. Neither of us could finish them. They did not offer any specials. The 2 of us sat at a table meant for 4 and were so far away from each other. We had a bottle of the historic park inn red wine and it was very good! The dining room was very beautiful. So was the bar. The server was friendly. We stayed at the hotel. It was very nice.

The dining area and service were great. We seek out FLLW buildings wherever we travel so it was a treat to eat in a hotel he designed. Our server was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the food did not meet our expectations. The calamari appetizer was overcooked and tough, and almost everything was very salty to the point of overwhelming any other taste. We asked for the vegetables to be redone. Prices were as expected (about $40/person plus tip), and the restaurant discounted our appetizer based on our complaint.

We even decided to stay the night.
