The hotel is beautiful, and their staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant staff is APPALLING! I have NEVER seen such rude staff members. The 3 ladies that were working on 12/17/17 need serious work on customer service and team work. (The restaurant is why they only get one star)
We stayed overnight at the Historic Park Inn. It was phenomenal, from the heated floors in the bathroom to the concier that gave us a tour of the hotel I was amazed at the whole time. The history of the hotel shines from every area. I was so excited to get to stay here. The morning that we left, we had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. It was also stellar and the service was amazing. Our entire stay was fabulous and I hope that everyone takes advantage of an opportunity to stay at the Historic Park Inn.
Nice historic hotel. It looks like it was pulled out of the 1930's, which I love. The staff was very good and the breakfast was very good in the cafe. Will be going back.
This is the ONLY operating Frank Llyod Wright hotel in the world. If you appreciate Prairie and Arts and Craft architecture, this place immerses you in all that is special about the period. The doors and ceilings are low, "squat" in the lingo. Woodwork is spectacular. The restoration even includes hand trowled platter wall finishes.
Bar and restaurant on site offer bistro/pub food. The flat bread is amazing.
Lovely, comfy, roomy, and so, so charming! This beautifully restored Frank Lloyd Wright original hotel is a must see! It’s worth it to book a room and spend the night to soak in the full experience of its 1910 charm. The lobby invites you in to a contracted space with its low ceiling and warm wood tones. Walk through the doors to to lounge behind the front desk and feel the release as the space opens to a high ceiling and beautiful ‘skylight’—most of the stained glass pieces are original. Our room was on a corner so we had two walls covered in windows. My only small criticism is the windows were dirty. The king bed was comfy. The huge bathroom was clean and don’t forget about the light switch over the shower. Sign up for the weekend tour to get a look at all the non-public spaces. Free parking is included in your stay—the front desk gives you a tag to place in your car to park in the lot across the street in front of the park. Read Living Frank by Nancy Horan for a glimpse into the architect who designed this beautiful space.
Absolutely awesome.
But if you're looking for a chain business hotel you will be disappointed. Lower priced rooms are small but very comfortable. Beds are as good a they get. Plenty of pillows, big screen TV etc. The park view rooms are worth the upgrade for a special evening
I highly recommend this reasonably priced treasure. It's worth the trip to Mason City just for the night.
